BVM leads the field with the ultra-low power Braswell SoC AsRock IMB-154 and IMB-155 - 05/10/2015
Intel’s latest low-cost iteration of the Bay Trail SoC Pentium and Celeron architecture, Braswell, offers ultra-low power for fanless operation, budget-level computing performance and plentiful I/O. BVM are the first in the UK to offer the AsRock IMB-154 and IMB-155 Mini-ITX (6.7 x 6.7 inch) motherboards designed for use in applications such as POS, kiosk, gaming machines, video display and thin clients. The 64-bit 14 nm Braswell SoC processors are available in a number of configurations: the default option for the IMB-154 and IMB-155 is the Celeron N3150 quad core SoC processor running at 2.08 GHz, addressing up to 8 GB of Dual Channel 1600 MHz DDR3L memory and with a meagre TDP rating of 6 Watts. The HD Graphics engine has been updated to the Generation 8 LP architecture, with up to 16 execution units clocked as high as 700MHz to give excellent video performance with HDMI, VGA and Dual Channel 24-bit LVDS/eDP interfaces at 1920 x 1200 pixels. Triple multi-display is supported and 7.1 audio is supported.
The IMB-154, offers four USB 3.0 ports, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, a half size mini-PCIe Slot, three serial ports, a TPM header and two SATA3 6.0 Gb/s mass storage interfaces.
The lower profile IMB-155, offers the same I/O configuration but with six serial ports and one SATA3 controller. Both boards are powered from an external 12 -24 VDC in PSU or the IMB-154 can alternatively be powered from the on-board ATX connector.
