As the increasing demands of Edge AI computing platforms continues to generate both solution uptake & interest across a number of industries, ASRock Industrial has developed the powerful iEPF-9000S and iEP-9000E Series which are ruggedized, Edge AIoT industrial computing platforms possessing a wide range of connectivity options (5G/4G, WiFi-6, BLE-5.1). Both series are capable, compact and offer a mixed range of computing architecture that suits a diversity of needs in various industrial ‘mission-critical’ applications.
The newly released iEPF-9000S and iEP-9000E series are powered by the Intel 10th Generation Xeon W and Core i7/i5/i3 processors (Comet Lake) with W480E, Q470E, and H420E chipsets for supreme performance, flexible integration and reliability at the Edge. Featuring workload consolidation, both series provide high levels of computing power, rich assortment of I/O and expansion capabilities within a compact footprint to make it the latest computing architecture for Edge AI applications within smart factories, machine automation, automated optical inspection and countless more applications.
Super Computing Power for Edge AI Applications
The iEPF-9000S Series ‘expandable’ Edge AIoT Platform is designed with flexible configurations and expansion slots for a variety of expansion cards; the iEP-9000E Series ‘compact’ Edge AIoT Platform is space-saving and fan-less in its design with a passive thermal dissipation solution. With the aforementioned Intel 10th Generation Xeon W and Core i7/i5/i3 Processors (Comet Lake) there is support a total of 4 x DDR4 SO-DIMM slots to deliver up to 128GB; a phenomenal upgrade of memory size that’s perfect for Edge AI applications.
Rich ‘industrial-centric’ I/O for Easy Integration
The iEPF-9000S and iEP-9000E Series support the following wide variety of i/o :-
- 5 x Intel Gigabit LAN ports with two supporting PoE ports
- 4 x USB 3.2 Gen2,
- 3 x USB2.0
- 6 x COM (4 x RS-232/422/485, 2 x RS-232)
- 8 x DI/DO (support 2.5KV isolation)
Truly a great ‘visual’ experience……..
External display support is provided via triple display output – with 2 x Display Port and 1 x VGA. Storage medium is provided in the format of plus 4 x SATA3 with hot swap trays for 2.5-inch SSD or HDD (there is also a CFast Option).
When you need to ‘expand’ your capabilities……..
Designed with flexible expansion slots, the iEPF-9000S Series supports one PCIe x16 (Gen 3) – or two PCIe x8 (Gen 3) and two PCIe x4 for a variety of expansion needs such for graphic cards, frame grabbers motion cards and I/O cards. Additionally, there are various slots for RF modules and storage :-
- 1 x M.2 Key M for NVMe/ SATA SSD
- 1 x M.2 Key B for 4G/ 5G
- 1 x M.2 Key E for Wi-Fi/ BT
- 2 x Mini PCIe for option modules.
Compact and Rugged Design for Harsh Environments
The iEPF-9000S Series includes the models iEPF-9000S-EX4, iEPF-9001S-EX4, and iEPF-9002S-EX4 and are space-saving in footprint – coming in at a mere 202 x 290 x 209.3mm (W x D x H). Available models in the iEP-9000E Series are the iEP-9000E, iEP-9001E, and iEP-9002E – also with a compact size at 202 x 244 x 108.7mm (W x D x H). Specifically for difficult and challenging installation environments, both series support DC 9~36V wide range power input with ignition control, remote power switch, 80V surge protection, OVP, UVP, OCP and reverse protection. The series are operational within a diverse temperature range of -40°C~75°C (-40°F~167°F) and will withstand high shock and vibration to ensure an ‘always-on’ status even in the most harshest of environments.
