Smart Choice for Inference System With AI
Artificial Intelligence, AI, is changing our lives from the past to the future. It enables machine learning by using a variety of training models to simulate and infer the status or appearance of objects. For example, the inference system with the video analysis model can perform face and vehicle license plate analysis for safety and security purposes.
The FLEX AIoT Dev. Kit features rich I/O and two PCIe slots (x8) to support add-ons like accelerator cards (Mustang-F100-A10 & Mustang-V100-MX8) or PoE cards (IPCIE-4POE) to enhance performance and function for various applications.
Traffic Monitoring
The FLEX provides a variety of mounting options, wall mounting and rack mounting, that allow it to also fit into existing sites, and it has three PCIe slots supporting half-height and half-length (HHHL) cards such as GPUs, FPGAs, and VPUs. End users could deploy AI into the existing NVR/VMS system, and there is no need to replace any existing hardware.

License Plate Recognition
AI-enabled LPRs allow for business to change parking structures eliminating gates. This offers a convenient way for cars to access parking without the hassle of waiting in line for a gate to open. If an unauthorized vehicle were to access the area, security can be notified immediately by text/email alert system.
The FLEX series designed for machine vision market has three PCIe 3.0 expansion slots for installing motion controller cards, GP GPU/FPGA/VPU cards and the PoE Ethernet card which is developed by IEI and has four GbE Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports compliant with IEEE 802.3af for direct connection to CCTV cameras without needing separate power.
Face Recognition
The FLEX was equipped with Mustang-V100-MX8 AI computing accelerator card for analyzing multiple streams of video data and handling real-time tasks such as face detection, age, gender, emotion analysis and facial identification for unique counting to be applied in services such as precision marketing, VIP customer service, customer flow analysis, streamlining human resources, data collection and even applicable in domestic care and aiding crime investigation and prevention. By adopting AI accelerator modules, it can speed up 20 times faster than Celeron® CPU and accelerate computer vision and deep learning inference on the edge.

Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit
Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit is based on convolutional neural networks (CNN); the toolkit extends workloads across multiple types of Intel® platforms and maximizes performance.
It can optimize pre-trained deep learning models such as Caffe, MXNET, and Tensorflow. The tool suite includes more than 20 pre-trained models, and supports 100+ public and custom models (including Caffe, MXNet, TensorFlow, ONNX, Kaldi) for easier deployments across Intel® silicon products (CPU, GPU/Intel® Processor Graphics, FPGA, VPU).
