What are marine grade computers?
Marine certified Panel PC computing products are designed for maritime applications and IoT integration to assist with applications such as vessel navigation, monitoring & surveillance and ship automation systems. Winmate’s Marine PC Series are tested & certified to marine grade certification to meet international maritime regulation. Winmate ECDIS Marine Panel PCs are built and tested according to DNV Standard Certification 2.4, IEC60945, and IACS-E10 for naval applications. They are colour calibrated for ECDIS compliance, dimming brightness – and provided with projective capacitive for multi-touch interactive touch screen – as well as capacitive touch keys and wide voltage range power input 9-36 V DC.
ECDIS Colour Calibration
Winmate marine displays (both for monitor & panel PC) can be adjusted daylight, dusk, or night mode to accommodate any ambient lighting condition. CIE x, CIE y, CIE z are measured from 63 colour tokens per mode (Day, Night, and Dusk). These colour settings are calibrated at Winmate’s factory to achieve accurate colour reproduction referred to by the IEC 61174 standard. In the ECDIS-colour calibrated models, quick function keys allow instant brightness adjustment to any three modes.
DNV Certification
The application of a DNV certification guarantees the suitability of marine displays, rugged panel PC’s and embedded system PC for use in the oceanic sector. The IEC requirements define maritime computing solutions’ standard quality, safety and security.
IEC 60945 Certification
All instrumentation and components used in a ship’s bridge, even those that form a minor part of the critical framework, must be evaluated under the IEC 60945 criteria and regulations. DNV-GL (or other certified and identified third-party communities of distinction) will perform audits to this level.
Display readability & accurate touch interactivity
Winmate Marine display and Panel PCs are integrated with optical bonding technologies. They offer accuracy where interactivity is needed for control – and the ruggedness and longevity of the display solution . Predominantly though, TFT displays provided with optical bonding provide for better clarity and sunlight readability – suitable for bridge workstations, ship command centres – where ambient lighting conditions, display glare and reflectivity all need to be coped with.
