The maritime industry demands safety and reliability and consequently PC solutions required to be operable at all times need to be both rugged & durable for sustained long-term operational periods able to cope with the challenges posed by these harsh environments.
Ocean going vessels face daunting condition – such as including humidity and extreme temperature changes, as well as intense shock and vibration. To cope with the most demanding of environments, the APLEX ViKING Series is a fanless, true flat bezel marine panel PC that holds marine certification and incorporates a variety of needed features. The series is specifically built to endure harsh environments, protect equipment from damage – and prevention of ‘system down’ situations.
Durability Meets Visual Performance: ViKING’s Robust Display
The ViKING series offers screen dimming functionality and anti-corrosion protection, making it an ideal choice for marine navigation applications. Lighting conditions can rapidly change midst ocean, necessitating the need for PC display brightness control for effective operational use on the Bridge. ViKING provides brightness control (from 0% to 100%) along with AR coating, optical bonding and three lighting modes (day, dusk and night) to provide accuracy of screen reading during operation.
The ViKING Panel PC Series are designed to operate in temperature ranges from -20 to 60℃ – additionally having passed salt spray tests for anti-corrosion and are certified with an IP66 front bezel for dustproof and waterproof protection.
These features safeguard the system against corrosion, water damage and moisture infiltration.
Equipped with 8th Gen Intel Core i3/i5 processors, ViKING delivers exceptional computing power, enabling efficient control of features, rapid data collection and accurate dissemination of information.
ViKING is available in three sizes: 12.1″, 19″ and 24″ TFT-LCD – all of which include integrated projected capacitive touch to provide multi-touch functionality. The isolated I/O design includes 1 x 260pin SO-DIMM DDR4 up to 32GB capacity – and 4 x USB 3.0, 2 x COM and 1 x DP for effective communication with other peripheral devices. Additionally, ViKING supports expansion cards and an OSD keypad for quick and user-friendly operation. System storage is easily accessible allowing for efficient exchange of storage devices.
