OEM/ODM Industrial and Embedded System Design
BVM’s Design to Order services transform your ideas from initial concept through design and prototyping, delivering fully manufacturable solutions.
Our OEM Design to Order services are highly adaptable and perfectly suited to a wide range of industrial applications, demanding environments and specialist uses. Whether facing extreme temperatures or harsh conditions, our designs ensure optimal operation and maximum uptime. We deliver shock-resistant, dustproof and waterproof (IP certified) solutions, optimized for 24/7 use in the harshest of environments.
The Design Process
At BVM, we excel in understanding our clients’ needs from the outset. We promptly generate a ‘Requirement Specification’ – our memorandum of understanding (MOR) to ensure we possess prior knowledge and are fully aligned with our clients’ objectives.
- How you want your product to function and perform?
- What features and I/O does it need for it to compete in its intended markets.
- Products aesthetics; it’s looks and feel
- Time to market and budgetary considerations

These are just a selection of the areas where we’ll apply our skills to during the
Rugged, Industrial and Embedded Product Design to Order process :-
- Power requirements of the system
- Efficient thermal management and heat dissipation
- Optimized design for manufacturability and testing
- Strategic selection of components for extended product availability
- Proactive management of obsolescence, End of Life (EOL), and Last Time Procurement processes
Once you sign off on the Requirement Specification, we dive into the detailed design phase. This phase includes generating robust concepts that evolve from our initial designs. It all culminates in the creation of a “proof of concept” (PoC) – a functional unit that validates your application software’s performance, aesthetics (the overall look and feel of your product), and budget, ensuring everything aligns perfectly.
Following the proof of concept, we move towards the production of pre-production/field trial prototypes. These prototypes are essential for further verifying the design’s manufacturability and testability. From start to finish, every step of the process is meticulously guided by BVM’s Quality Management System, audited and certified to meet ISO-9001-2015 standards.

“A successful product not only requires a competent functional design……
….it also needs to be designed for manufacture.”

BVM Products are Designed for Manufacture
Design for Manufacture (Design for Manufacturability or DFM) is the engineering process of designing products to ensure they’re efficient to manufacture.
Our design team plan a level of detail during both the initial concept and prototype phases – well before any level of product volume is reached. During the initial design processes, the design will be refined and honed along the way to make it suitable for repeatable production.
Our designs will always consider:
- Set up and tooling costs
- Volume production costs
- Maintenance costs
- Environmental effects
BVM’s Design processes will always allow every commercial (and technical) consideration to be identified within design phase, the most cost-effective place to catch & address everything.
Longevity: 5 to 7 years
Choosing the right Industrial PC Components ensures long-term production life for your product, typically lasting between 5 and 7 years. We can also extend designs for longer, allowing your product to be manufactured for years beyond the typical industrial design expectations.
