DFI (Diamond Flower Information) has released its latest industrial motherboard, the CS181 (measuring 197.72 x 167.32 mm) that aims, with its mini-ITX form factor, to elevate processing speeds for heavy workloads, deliver credible solutions to enable AI and machine learning – and improve the performance of M2M systems at the Edge.
DFI’s CS181 merges the three imperative elements to realise Edge Machine Learning, namely : high-performance 9th/8th Gen Intel® Core i7/i5/i3 processors, the relatively small graphics processing MXM module to accelerate image analysis and 5G support for ultra-fast data transfer at wide bandwidths. Compared to the traditional computing solutions with added GPU solutions (that generally always take a proportionate large amount of space) the CS181 delivers the same performance at a 75% reduced footprint by leveraging a slim MXM module for machine and deep learning. The resulting performance can be shared through 5G broadband via with localised IoT devices achieving AI real-time driven responses.
Utilising the small footprint, timely data-driven decision making and seamless collaboration with local devices, the CS181 is expected to be the “small pioneer” at the front line of ‘computing vision’ for applications such as AOI, AGV, AMR in factory, X-ray in medical imaging and license plate recognition (ANPR) and traffic flow analysis for road transportation.
