Neousys Introduces Nuvo-2615RL: The Robust Railway Computer for Video-Based Rolling Stock Applications
Neousys, a leading provider of ruggedised computing solutions, announces the launch of the Nuvo-2615RL series, a fanless railway computer designed specifically for video-based rolling stock applications such as network video recording (NVR) and video analytics. Compliant with EN50155 and EN45545 standards, the Nuvo-2615RL is designed & built to meet the requirements of the rail industry.
The Nuvo-2615RL series features a dedicated thermal design that ensures reliable operation in extreme temperature ranges (-40°C to 70°C) whilst maintaining maximum CPU performance. The PC also offers up to 50W PoE+ power delivery, making it suitable for video-based applications for railway rolling stock. To address the challenging conditions of the rail industry, from voltage fluctuations to power outages, the Nuvo-2615RL is equipped with an isolated wide-range 43V to 160V DC input design. Additionally, it incorporates a built-in SuperCAP UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) that provides over 30 seconds of operation time without a power supply. In case of an extended power outage, an internal microcontroller triggers a software shutdown to protect the hardware and data, minimising maintenance costs.
Powered by the Intel Elkhart Lake Atom x6425E quad-core CPU, the Nuvo-2615RL series delivers 1.8 times the CPU performance compared to Intel’s previous Atom generation, Apollo Lake. With its 4 x PoE+ GbE ports, the Nuvo-2615RL can be connected to IP cameras, offering a total power budget of up to 50W. The system provides ample storage options, including an internal M.2 2280 SATA SSD for system storage and a front-accessible 2.5″ HDD tray that accommodates a 2.5″ SATA HDD/SSD up to 15mm in height and 5TB in capacity. For expansion purposes, it offers 2 x mini-PCIe sockets for WiFi, GNSS, and CAN modules, as well as an M.2 3042/3052 B Key socket for 4G/5G mobile broadband modules.
Combining the power of the Intel Atom quad-core x6425E CPU, -40°C to 70°C fanless operation, M12 PoE+ connectivity, up to 5TB of data storage capacity, a 2500-watt second SuperCAP UPS, a wide-range 43V to 160V DC input – and compliance with EN50155 and EN45545 standards, the Nuvo-2615RL series is the ultimate rugged transportation computer for vision-based rolling stock applications.
