Neousys Launches its NRU-220S: The Advanced Edge AI Computer for Real-Time Video Analytics
Neousys, a leading provider of edge computing solutions, has unveiled its latest innovation, the NRU-220S series. This powerful AI NVR (Network Video Recorder) and video transcoder is powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin offering real-time inference capabilities and advanced video transcoding features. With its fanless design and wide temperature operation capability, the NRU-220S is the perfect solution for both stationary and mobile deployment applications.
At the heart of the NRU-220S is the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 32GB/64GB system-on-module (SOM). Featuring an Ampere GPU with up to 2048 CUDA cores, 64 Tensor cores, and 2x NVDLA 2.0 Engines, and delivering an impressive total of 275 sparse TOPS (INT8) for AI inference, the system is capable of simultaneously transcoding up to twenty-two 1080P video streams ensuring seamless video processing and analysis.
The NRU-220S offers 4 x 802.3at PoE+ ports, each capable of supplying up to 25.5W of power to connected IP cameras. Additionally, the system provides 2 x 2.5GbE ports which are ideal for surveillance applications requiring additional IP camera or higher bandwidth connections to backend infrastructure. Storage expansion is simplified with the inclusion of two front-accessible 2.5″ SSD trays, complementing the 64GB eMMC on the Orin module. The NRU-220S also features 2 x mini-PCIe sockets for CAN/COM/WiFi modules and an M.2 B key socket for 4G LTE/5G NR mobile communications.
In addition to its connectivity options, the NRU-220S incorporates a wide range of NVIDIA AI tools and modern deep learning frameworks. This enables real-time video inference at the edge, making it suitable for applications such as surveillance, predictive maintenance and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Furthermore, the NRU-220S includes Neousys’ unique damping bracket design, ignition power control and wide-range DC power input (8-48V), making it an excellent choice for in-vehicle deployment. Neousys also offers a derivative model, the NRU-222S, which features M12 connectors for secure i/o connections in harsh environments such as agriculture, construction and mining machinery applications.
