Neousys Technology, a leading provider of rugged embedded systems, has recently launched its ultra-compact fanless computing series, the POC-40 series.

The computer is designed for use in environments where is space is limited – and conditions are challenging. Featuring Intel’s latest Elkhart Lake Atom x6211E dual-core processor, the POC-40 series provides 1.8x single-thread and 1.5x multi-thread performance compared to the previous processor generation – the Gemini Lake Atom CPU’s. In short, with its 10nm manufacturing process technology, the new-generation Elkhart Lake Atom x6211E dual-core processor provides exceptional processing power in a tiny package.

Measuring just 52 mm (W) x 89 mm (D) x 112 mm (H), the POC-40 series is the size of a 2.5” SSD. Despite its small size, the device has an abundance of power making it ideal for industrial computing solutions to address factory data collection, rugged edge computing or mobile gateway applications – to name but a few.   

An unmatched combination of i/o ports and internal expansion

Despite its small size, the POC-40 series has a number of high-speed I/O ports that are easily accessible inclusive of 2 x Gigabit Ethernet, 4 x USB (2.0/ 3.1 Gen1), 4 x COM –  and optional isolated digital I/O’s for industrial communication and control.

The PC also has M.2 B key and M.2 E key sockets to facilitate 5G/ 4G/ WiFi 6/ WiFi 5 modules to provide real-time data transmission and wide-area coverage for industrial and mobile gateway applications.

The Neousys POC-40 series is designed for use in harsh industrial environments, with its fanless industrial-grade design supporting 12V DC to 20V DC wide-voltage input, -25°C to 70°C wide-temperature operation – and can be mounted via either DIN-rail or by VESA for wall-mounting. The POC-40 is also certified for MIL-STD-810G, Method 514.6 to withstand vibration.
