The PPC2-C-EHL PC series from IEI is designed with rugged features to handle harsh work environments of any kind. The series is fanless, supporting wide operating temperatures (-10°C to 60°C) and provides vibration resistant features, inclusive of 8GB on-board memory and being operation with NVMe storage.
At the heart of the system is an Intel Celeron J6412 CPU to deliver excellent performance at ultra-low power. The 10-point P-CAP touchscreen comes with anti-glare/anti-UV coatings and is scratch resistant, providing IP65 protection. The series also supports gloved/wet hand operation, making the Panel PC series the ideal solution for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications in challenging environments.
Powered by Intel Quad-Core Processor – with burst speeds up to 2.6GHz
Powered by Intel Celeron J6412 processor (burst speed up to 2.6 GHz), the PPC2-C08-EHL delivers high level CPU and graphics performance at low power. Compared to the previous generation series (PPC-F-BT), the PPC2-Cxx-EHL provides 204% and 139% boost on for graphics and overall system performance respectively. With low power and a capable processor, the industrial panel PC delivers IIoT edge computing, preserving energy whilst maintaining high computational power.

Fast & reliable 8GB LPDDR4x memory
With 8GB capacity dual-channel low voltage LPDDR4x soldered memory for ruggedisation, fast memory speeds of 3,200MHz can also be enjoyed – whilst still reducing memory power consumption by 18~20% by cutting the output driver power by 50%, from 1.2 V to 0.6 V. It also takes reduced space on-chip for better system airflow and shortens the trace for better signal transmission.
Stability is a paramount in applications where vibration is present and the soldered-on-board type memory enables the PPC2-C-EHL Touchscreen PC series to deliver device consistency when compared to that of socket-type memory devices for critical applications such as transportation and other mobile based applications.
Front IP65 Ingress Protection
Water and dust ingress protection are crucial for harsh environments, such as food production where sanitation and cleanliness are required for daily clean down of automation equipment. The PPC2-C08-EHL has a rugged aluminium die-cast front bezel framed with a strong waterproof gasket seal on the rear to protect in clean down situations, such as when pressurised water is directed at the unit.
The design provides the following protective features:
- Dust-tight protection for maximum performance against flying dust, dirt, debris and other particulate matter.
- High level of protection against water ingress via (at least) 3 minutes of continual water jet spraying from a 6.3-millimeter nozzle from any direction.
- An 8mm width bezel with flat surface makes it easy to maintain and clean, preventing water or liquid droplets from penetrating or congregation of dust on edges.
AI Acceleration enhances Machine Learning at the Edge
With the M.2 2280 B-key socket and PCI Express 3.0 x2 signals, edge AI deployments can be achieved by integrating a low-power Movidius Myriad X VPU module with an IEI industrial-grade IP65 Panel PC to process deep learning and AI inference analysis – and enhance diverse vision inference applications such as facial recognition, vehicle registration plate recognition and many other machine vision applications in real-time. (Note – the IEI Mustang-M2BM-MX2 AI module is optional)

Network Redundancy
With dual LAN port configuration, network redundancy is achieved through the addition of alternate network paths which are implemented through redundant standby routers and switches. When the primary path is unavailable, the alternate path can be instantly deployed to ensure minimal downtime and continuity of network services.
2.5GbE Higher Bandwidth
2.5GbE is 2.5 times faster than standard Ethernet (1GbE), increasing network performance to boost productivity. Higher bandwidth allows connecting to devices that need intensive bandwidth, like high-resolution cameras and video streaming for playback quality of 4K/8K video.
Multiple Device Connections
The two full-speed 2.5 GbE LAN ports provide the industrial panel PC with more bandwidth to handle multiple connections to sensors, high-resolution cameras, the Internet and other IoT devices with Ethernet connectivity.
A variety of mounting methods to fit your needs
The PPC2-C-EHL series features a 75 x 75mm VESA-mountable design that allows the user to mount the display via desktop stands or on walls, depending on needs. In addition, IEI have developed a new way of panel mounting, requiring fewer clamps which can be easily fastened by hand.
Customisable I/O interfaces simplifies functionality expansion
The PPC2-C-EHL series motherboard has an expansion slot on the board edge which can be used to connect an I/O board to provide extra inputs inclusive of M.2, serial ports, USB ports, CAN bus and network ports enhances the series flexibility in ODM/OEM projects.
Proof of Ruggedisation
To verify the ruggedness of design, IEI;s experienced team can conduct MIL-STD tests via their own certified laboratory – subjecting the industrial panel PC series to harsh environment conditions to provide proof of durability and ruggedness in the conditions you need your system to operate in.
