APLEX Technology Inc, a global industrial computing solutions provider, are pleased to announce the introduction of their new system PC for medical based applications – the EIRA-522.  The system is a box PC for deployment in smart medical applications regarding image analysation (via AI) for medical processes.

Analysation of medical imagery is still generally completed via the experience and knowledge of medical practitioners. However, this can invite subjectivity, differences of opinion and (potentially) inefficiencies where crucial decisions need to be made quickly. AI image analysis now plays a significant role in aiding nurses, doctors and consultants in taking the right decisions when making patient diagnosis and providing treatment plans.

Through Machine Learning, the EIRA-522 can make a difference where medical image analysis is concerned……..

The EIRA-522 is designed to perform complex computing tasks in situ within the medical field,  detecting for imagery ‘abnormalities’ by its machine learning capabilities. For instance, inflammations, external & internal infections and ulcers – through to more serious issues such as  tumours and various cancers can all be detected and registered for further analysis via the systems abilities. For this reason, the EIRA-522 is equipped with high end computing processor performance and is also equipped with expansion ports to enable use of GPU cards to meet the demands of AI.  

The EIRA-522 is powered via 9th Gen. Intel Core i7/i5/i3 processors, supported by DDR4 SO-DIMM memory up to 64GB in capacity. Additionally, the device has storage facilities via  2 x 2.5” SATA3 HDD/SSD with an ‘easy to swap’ HDD tray.

I/O interfaces support is provided via :-

  • 4 x USB 3.0,
  • 1 x internal USB 2.0 header
  • 2 x COM ports
  • 1 x VGA
  • 1 x HDMI
  • 2 x LAN

For additional expansion :-

  • 1 x full size Mini-PCIe slot
  • 1 x M.2 M-key 2280/2242 to support NVMe
  • 1 x PCIe x16
