ASRock Industrial have launched the revolutionary iEP-6010E Series Industrial IoT Controller. The innovative device is powered by the cutting-edge NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX/Jetson Orin Nano system-on-module (SOM), delivering exceptional edge computing power of up to 100 SPARSE (50 DENSE) INT8 TOPS. With its compact design & high performance inferencing – and energy-efficient operation, the iEP-6010E Series is a perfect choice for AI applications.

Designed for versatility, this industrial controller offers flexible I/O options and a ruggedised build, making it ideal for deployment in harsh environments. It supports wide ranging DC power input (12V to 36V) and operates flawlessly in temperatures ranging from -25°C to 60°C.

NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX/Nano SOM:

The iEP-6010E Series is offered in a variety of configurations – for example, the iEP-6010E which is based on the powerful NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX SOM (‘System on Module’) with 16GB 128-bit LPDDR5 memory. There’s also the iEP-6011E with the same Jetson Orin NX SOM but with 8GB memory, the iEP-6012E based on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano SOM with 8GB memory – and the iEP-6013E based on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano SOM with 4GB memory.

The NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB SOM delivers exceptional performance with up to 100 SPARSE (50 DENSE) INT8 TOPS, surpassing the capabilities of the previous NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX SOM by almost 5 times.

The compact footprint of the Basic SKU measures 55 x 170 x 134mm (W x H X D) and 68 x 170 x 134mm for the PoE/5G SKU. The iEP-6010E Series, whether powered by the Jetson Orin NX or the Orin Nano SOM, provides a significant boost to AI processing power for embedded and edge computing devices, allowing for increased performance within the constraints of size, weight and power budgets.

The Ultimate Edge AI Solution with Flexible I/Os

The iEP-6010E Series is specially designed to facilitate the implementation of Edge AI video solutions, offering high levels of flexibility in terms of i/o. The series features various connectivity options, inclusive of 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 ports (one of which has a locking feature), 2 x USB 2.0 ports, – and 2 x Gigabit LAN ports in the Basic SKU. Additionally, the PoE SKU provides support for up to 2 x IEEE 802.3AF PoE ports, enabling camera deployment with both power supply and video transmission.

For display connectivity, the series offers 1 x HDMI 2.0 port for Orin NX SOM and 1 x HDMI 1.4 port for Orin Nano SOM. It also includes 1 x RS-232 port, 1 x RS-232/422/485 serial port – and proprietary DB15 connectors. The proprietary DB15 connectors are designed with embedded applications in mind and provide I²C, SPI, CANBUS interfaces – and Power/GND pins. These connectors also incorporate signals for Power/GND and Remote Power Button/Reset.

In terms of storage support, the iEP-6010E Series includes 1 x M.2 Key M (2280) slot for PCIe Gen 4×4 on both the iEP-6010E & iEP-6011E solutions – and Gen 3×4 on the iEP-6012E/iEP-6013E – allowing for NVMe SSD storage capability. Additionally, there’s also 1 x Micro SD card slot.

Enhanced RF Features and Durable Construction

The iEP-6010E Series has been designed to facilitate advanced wireless communications and RF connectivity. It comes with a multitude of expansion options inclusive of a M.2 Key B socket for optional 5G or 4G LTE modules and a M.2 Key E socket for optional Wi-Fi modules.

With up to 4 x 5G/4G LTE antennas and 2 x Wi-Fi antennas, the iEP-6010E Series ensures all-round excellent communication capabilities. The series is designed & built to be operable in wide temperature ranges (-25°C to 60°C) and supports a wide ranging DC input (12V to 36V) with surge protection and additional safety protection features.

The iEP-6010E Series also offers flexibility in power options, with Phoenix type connectors or USB Type-C interfaces with a locking mechanism. The series is an ideal choice for Edge AI applications, with two dual-lane MIPI-CSI2 interfaces for image capturing.
