The DFI CS181 is an industrial Mini-ITX motherboard tailored to infuse deep learning into smart Edge computing. Riding on the solid computing basis of Intel’s 9th/8th Gen Core i7/i5/i3 processors, the CS-181 further accelerates graphical processing via MXM modules for AI vision and machine learning. For Edge devices to transfer and receive data that’s been through analysis, to aid timely responses to the dynamics at the Edge, the CS-181’s 5G capability provides fast & efficient data traffic capacity. The closer and faster the synergy between Edge devices, the smarter the edge computing ecosystem needs to be in order to increase accuracies & efficiencies in applications such as imaging analysis, protection of driver safety via traffic flow analysis or automatic license plate recognition (ANPR) in cities and towns.

The CS-181, deployed with 9th/8th Gen Intel Core processors, has been designed around the up & coming new era of AI. Integrated with the improved desktop performance via the multitasking capabilities of up to 8 x computing cores, the onboard processor solutions provides high-speed computing capacity up to 65W.
Enhanced accuracies for high-precision inspection
High-precision computer aided vision via a compact PC is now a reality. Condensed GPU footprint, as opposed to the use of more traditional GPU cards, is realised via the use of the MXM 3.1 module that the CS181 supports, providing the same level of processing capability with scalable performance up to 200W. Configured with up to 1920 CUDA cores, the MXM module focuses on the visual analysis or compute-intensive workloads that provides for improved reliability to meet the demands of computing vision or AI applications such as machine vision, vision guided robotics and AGV’s in factory automation.
Real-time M2M Communication Based on 5G
Deep learning requires a huge amount of image and data input to achieve smart automation and optimisation. The support for 5G provides the CS-181 with a capability to connect with devices and deliver immediate data transmission and its analysis. The multi-gigabit speeds and ultra-low latency of 5G strengthen the synergy of devices and makes communication across large deployments of devices efficient in order to respond to real-time dynamics at the Edge.
