Project Overview: Next-Generation Fuel Pressure & Flow Monitor

This project involved a complete re-engineering of a client’s existing portable Fuel Pressure & Flow Monitor. BVM was tasked with designing and manufacturing a ruggedized and upgraded version, integrating the client’s custom monitoring electronics into a durable Pelicase iM2300 housing.

A key requirement was to streamline the entire production process. BVM took full responsibility for the procurement of all components, manufacturing, quality assurance, and logistics. This significantly simplified the client’s operations by removing the need for them to manage a complex supply chain and third-party subcontractors. The final design also incorporates a fast-access system, allowing for easier internal maintenance and calibration in the field.

Core Design Requirements

• System Modernisation: Design and manufacture a ruggedized, upgraded version of the client’s portable monitor, integrating their custom monitoring electronics.
• Field Serviceability: Provide a system for fast internal access to simplify field maintenance and calibration procedures.
• Turnkey Production: Assume full responsibility for the entire production lifecycle—including component procurement, manufacturing, Quality Assurance (QA), and logistics—to streamline the client’s supply chain.

Application & Deployment: Aviation Ground Support

This portable system is a critical tool for on-site testing and maintenance of airport fuel line hydrants in both commercial and military aviation.

It is used by ground crews to detect minute changes in the overall fuel line pressure. By analysing pressure variations across a test cycle, the system confirms the integrity and ‘tightness’ of a specific fuel line section, ensuring safety and operational readiness. The integrated PC acquires and processes pressure transmittance data, providing clear and immediate results.
