Description
The IMB-150 is a high performance Mini-ITX motherboard from Asrock. Benefitting from the entry level H81 chipset, the board is a cost-effective, high performance platform suitable for many embedded applications. It supports Haswell 4th Generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3/Celeron processors in the LGA1150 socket with up to 16GB of dual-channel DDR3 1600MHz system memory. The IMB-185 combines heavyweight processing capability with low power consumption. Standard processor options range from 3.5GHz i3 with a TDP of 54W to a low power 3.9GHz i7 with a TDP of 45W; other variants are also available. Typical applications include video signage, gaming, automation, security video processing and many other uses where graphics-heavy and/or processing-intensive computing is required.
Intel HD graphics support VGA up to 1920 x 1200, HDMI 1.4a up to 4096 x 2304 and 24-bit dual channel LVDS; dual displays are supported. Two SATA3 6.0Gb/s and two SATA2 3.0Gb/s mass storage interfaces, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB3.0 and eight USB2.0 ports, a mSATA and a PCIe x16 slot are provided. Three RS232 and three RS232/422/485 serial ports, a TPM header and audio I/O are available. Input power is from an external source with both AT and ATX modes supported.
ASRock IMB-1003 – a Modern Alternative to the Iconic IMB-150.
ASRock Industrial’s IMB-1003 Mini-ITX motherboard is directly based on their hugely popular IMB-150 Mini ITX motherboard solution, which has sold in the many thousands per annum since its release in 2013.
Providing exactly the same form factor and location of I/O (and the majority of other constituent components, too) the IMB-1003 offers improved performance in the same compact and space-efficient package, with its Elkhart Lake J6412 SOC providing an improved single thread performance of up to 53% efficiency over that of its J1900 counterpart; the N6415 Quad Core SKU provides processing speeds up to 3.0GHZ @ 6.5 W TDP.
The IMB-1003 also supports 4 times more memory (2 x 260 pin SO-DIMM DDR4, 3200 MHz – up to 32GB in capacity. With the IMB-1003 providing identical input/output (I/O) to that of the IMB-150, the IMB-1003 is an ideal replacement or considered upgrade path if you’re already utilising the IMB-150 and are contemplating a future IPC upgrade where more system performance is needed, but are also aiming to make the minimum of disruption around physically redesigning your product to accommodate a newer motherboard solution.
